Washington, D.C. — Senator John Fetterman refused to “play chicken” with California Governor Gavin Newsom after a heated shutdown disagreement allegedly caused Newsom to literally transform into a panicked barnyard bird, sources have confirmed.
According to staffers, the moment Fetterman challenged Newsom’s criticism, the California governor puffed up, flapped wildly, and attempted to hide inside his fully stocked, climate-controlled safe space — complete with aromatherapy diffusers and pre-sorted emotional support pamphlets.
Medical experts now believe Newsom suffers from a rare political condition called Proximity-Induced Poultry Syndrome, in which a progressive’s confidence immediately collapses into barnyard noises whenever accountability, conflict, or someone wearing work boots gets too close.
Similar to Bird Flu, the syndrome is said to cause upset stomachs and diarrhea of the mouth, especially during televised interviews.
Fetterman told reporters, “I’m dealing with a man who’s more worried about hair products and Instagram reels than reality. I’m not playing political chicken with a guy when American lives are involved.”
Newsom reportedly attempted to respond but instead knocked over a bottle of organic hand sanitizer and released a string of distressed clucks that aides translated as: “I only talk tough from at least 3,000 miles away!”
As of press time, handlers were trying to lure Newsom out from under a table using non-GMO corn and a mirror labeled “You’re Still Pretty.”
