Cinemagoers were reportedly delighted this weekend when they discovered that newly announced Trump cabinet member Dr. Mehmet Oz actually had a big role in the film Wicked, sources have confirmed.
“That’s so smart that they cast him as Oz,” said Laura Cooper, as she was leaving a screening with her children. “I knew it was some musical about the Wizard of Oz, I had no idea about anything else going on. Needless to say, I was shocked when that TV host turned politician did a few songs. He can really carry a tune!”
Despite some vocal opposition to his film work from Democrats who insist it’s a distraction from his civic duties, Dr. Oz defended his choice to appear in the film as the famed Wizard of Oz.
“Hey look, I filmed that last year way before I was tapped to run the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,” he said. “Why doesn’t everyone calm down? Now that I’m a full-blown politician, I assure you that I will not be appearing on television or film in any capacity.”
“Until we do Wicked 2 next year,” he added.
