The disruption began when ICE agents were deployed to assist overwhelmed TSA staff at major airports like BWI, Houston, and San Juan, leading to shorter lines, smoother travel, and what one aide called “an extremely inconvenient improvement in reality.”
“We had people waiting five hours,” one strategist said.
“Five. Hours. Do you know how many press conferences that is?”
Sources say the original plan relied heavily on prolonged chaos, frustrated travelers, and at least three viral clips of people yelling at security lines.
“The goal was simple,” one official admitted.
“Let the lines grow, let people get angry, and then blame Trump.”
Instead, travelers began reporting faster lines, calmer environments, and—most damaging of all—gratitude.
“At one point people were thanking the agents,” one aide said.
