Yes, there are Israeli settlers that are racist bad actors, but every military incursion Israel has undertaken has been a response to a prior attack or a preemptive strike to prevent an attack. Hopefully, you also don’t believe that the U.S. “deserved” the attacks on 9/11/01.
Tuna, I must agree that Israel has been through strengthoust, unsettling and extremely difficult times with the many hurdles from those surrounding countries who would like to see them disappear from the face of the earth, right into the sea. Israel is such a small country in comparison to those like Iran that absolutely hate Israel and America. I don’t know the age of previous commenter Jim Burnett, but like him, there are enough young people willing to support the policies of the DSA that

Despite the fact that “wiser opinions” realize the DSA platform is financially untenable, and true Socialism has been shown repeatedly to be a failure; there are enough disgruntled voters out there willing to take a risk on the DSA because they feel the current system is broken, so why not try something new? On a compassionate scale what Jim Burnett said is true, “What’s wrong with universal healthcare and food stamps?” The only problem is most people are not that compassionate, and they’re not going to want to give up their hard earned cash to support these programs, and the federal government is too incompetent to provide this kind of social safety net without drowning further into debt,(40 trillion and counting.)
Tuna,l, we have that similar food stamps program, but better, for the less fortunate people who are unable to work or for other reasons that would quality them for assistance, but today it is called, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) ,a federally funded, state-run program that helps families pay for:
Food
Housing
Home energy
Child care
Many states also offer job training and help with tuition payments for work-related education. Each state or tribal government runs its TANF program differently and has a different name. Those who are eligible for TANF benefits acknowledge that every state, ,or tribal territory, has its own requirements for who can get TANF benefits. They must be a resident of the state where they are applying. They should find their local TANF office, and ensure they fully understand the TANF Program.

Through direct deposit
Some states can also issue benefits with paper checks.

We lived and worked in third-world countries that had the same Socialist mindset and their resources were severely overloaded. There were long, long lines of people waiting to see a doctor, grocery lines were horrendous, basically every resource was overwhelmed. Food shelves were empty, gas lines were excessively long, it was literally a very challenging time in our lives, but thank God that we were not permanent residents of their countries. I agree with you that our wonderful country is declining at a rapid pace, and I don’t understand how people can be so blind in letting it happen. So much deception, so many lies, so much hatred. I fear for the future of our children and grandchildren if we don’t turn back.
These people are beyond dangerous, they have proven over and over and over again and you’re starting to see it here, they are willing to use violence as a tool to get their power and maintain it. You don’t get free stuff because it costs other people their funds and possessions and destroys the middle class. The party politicians become the rich and everyone else suffers. What you do get is a Civil War with real bullets flying around with the nuts out there saying we’re gonna take power and it will be better for the people and it’s always worse. Grow up children.
The idea of Universal Health care, Food stamps, and other Aid is not bad, in and of itself. However, as was noted earlier, the people who have worked hard to earn their money then have to give it up to pay for somebody who hasn’t. If they are unable to work, that is very sad, and we need to go back to the churches and private institutions helping the needy through donations and fundraising.
The government does NOT have that obligation. And neither do the people who earn the money, the millionaires, or billionaires, or even the trillionaires! They have worked hard to get their money at some point, or at least their family has. Why do they need to give that up for people who haven’t worked hard to earn the money?
And for the record, I am none of those. I am strongly middle class, and my mother worked as a single mother to raise her children after divorcing my father. And that was in the ’80s, when being a divorced woman meant you couldn’t get an apartment, couldn’t get a loan, and had no credit history of your own.
The DSA has a flawed idea. Nothing is free! Somebody has to pay for it. And just because somebody has the money does not mean they need to give it up for somebody who doesn’t. Our country was not built on that premise! Are forefathers did not lay down their lives to protect that idea.
