New York mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani rolled out his “Trump-proof” immigration plan this week, initially assuring reporters it would be fully funded by bake sales, magic shows, and maybe a raffle for Mets tickets, sources have confirmed.
When the fantasy numbers didn’t add up, Mamdani revealed the real plan: tax business owners until the lights go out on Main Street.
Critics quickly dubbed him a backwards Robin Hood — shaking down job creators, business owners, and taxpayers to hand out free lawyers and resources like party favors at an ‘Illegals Welcome’ block party.
Analysts joked the scheme was “like drilling holes in a sinking boat to make room for more buckets.”
Meanwhile, business leaders warned the plan was less about Trump-proofing New York and more about prosperity-proofing it.
“Why start a business here if the city’s going to raid your cash drawer every time it wants to buy votes?” one Manhattan shopkeeper said.
As of press time, Mamdani’s staff was rumored to be drafting alternative revenue streams, including taxing the smell of pizza, charging tourists for looking at skyscrapers, and putting a meter on sunlight.
