Washington, D.C. — Hakeem Jeffries has reportedly entered the race for “Capitol Hill Class Clown” after a disastrous attempt to insult Karoline Leavitt backfired so badly it earned her an honorary PhD in verbal takedowns, sources have confirmed.
Jeffries, who called Leavitt “demented,” was later seen campaigning for his new title by performing dramatic readings of CNN headlines and throwing paper airplanes shaped like subpoenas across the chamber.
“It’s part performance art, part cry for attention,” explained one exhausted staffer.
Leavitt, in turn, delivered a response that left progressives gasping for air:
“Now open up the government and stop simping for likes on a post.”
Witnesses say the line hit Jeffries “like a pop quiz he forgot to study for.”
Sources state Jeffries’ “Class Clown campaign” now includes free participation ribbons for fellow Democrats who cry on cue during budget talks.
One aide said he’s even practicing balloon animals “in case the media circus needs props.”
Republicans applauded Leavitt’s composure, calling her “the valedictorian of common sense in a classroom full of activists.”
As of press time, Jeffries was reportedly taking advice from fellow Democrats to pursue his clown career full time, “since he’s already got the shoes and the backround for it.”
