In a stunning display of journalistic courage and comedic timing, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert have gone completely radio silent on Eric Swalwell’s resignation from Congress and withdrawal from the California governor’s race, sources have confirmed.
The two late-night titans once treated Swalwell like the second coming of political gold, rolling out red carpets, lobbing softball questions softer than cafeteria pudding, and cackling hysterically at his every dad-joke-level quip as if he were the funniest thing since sliced bread.
Kimmel introduced him as “the bold future of the Democratic Party” while audiences clapped like trained seals at feeding time.
Colbert nodded so vigorously his glasses nearly achieved escape velocity. But now that Swalwell has been isolated in the democrat’s penalty box — rightfully so, as even his own side can’t wait to pretend he never existed — both hosts have suddenly come down with a severe case of selective outrage laryngitis.
Their vocal cords lock up tighter than a Biden teleprompter the second anyone utters the S-word.
Meanwhile, Kimmel devoted an entire segment to breathlessly analyzing President Trump’s McDonald’s order as “a clear and present danger to democracy, extra pickles and all.”
Colbert spent twelve agonizing minutes dissecting a Republican senator’s casual walk as “deeply troubling gait fascism” that threatens the very republic.
Their desperate writers scrambled for emergency material on how Trump’s golf swing is single-handedly destroying the planet.
As of press time, both comedians were reportedly still looking for new jobs since, well, they’ve been canceled by their own audience for being about as funny as a rainy funeral.

Neither show is worth watching.
The one word definition of “Liberal Democrat” is hypocrite.
Now they are laughable – and I am LMAO.
Johnny Carson they and nobody else will ever be. He was funny. Even today his old shows are entertaining. Late night TV is not.
Rush Limbaugh is also irreplaceable. He did 3 hours on radio with no guests or call ins, just him informing and entertaining. Backed up with quotes and sources . People have tried but they’re no Johnny or Rush.
No Dems are denying or sweeping under the carpet the gross behavior of Swawel and that his immediate exit is warranted. The GOP, however, is still enabling trump’s lies, misconduct, and affiliation with Vlad.
My dear Mick – Dems were covering up and trying to “sweep things under the rug” all the while accusing Trump of what they themselves were guilty of doing.
They’re silent because both Jimmy Kimmel’s and Stephen Colbert’s names are in the Swalwell files.
