In a move that’s shaking up more than just school textbooks, President Donald Trump is poised to sign an executive order that would effectively dismiss the entire Department of Education, sources have confirmed.
Under the banner of “cutting the fat in government spending,” Trump announced his plans during a raucous rally, declaring it “the greatest lesson in government efficiency yet.”
The decision has educators and bureaucrats scrambling to understand the implications. “We’re going from Common Core to no core,” quipped one distressed policy analyst, as Department employees began archiving their work and dusting off their resumes.
Trump told cheering supporters, “Why do we even have a Department of Education? I prefer schools that aren’t regulated.” The crowd erupted as he playfully suggested that students could “learn more from watching ‘The Apprentice’ than from some outdated textbooks.”
Critics argue that the move could plunge the American education system into chaos, but Trump’s base praised the decision as a bold step towards decentralizing federal oversight over schools.
As of press time, Trump was seen asking aides if the executive order could also abolish homework.
This amounts to a return to the system as it it existed prior to the mid ’70. States and local school districts competed with each other for their ratings of education level and succeeded in making the U.S. the best educational system in the world. Furthermore, States and localities would compete for low cost and high amenities on a National basis. In other words, people might select their place of residence based on their children’s future! A great system!
The DOE is nothing but a breeding ground for those who push their evil upon our children . Ever since they pushed the LBGTQ upon our children . Now maybe our children will begin to be able to read and write And to actually return to a real education. With half of Americans unable to read and write especially incursive . Oh yeah South Carolina instituted that one . And plz put civics and geography and WorldHistory and especially Our history without all of the theatrics . Up until our Revolutionary War that made us a nation There were no blacks except what the British brought with them.
