In a bizarre twist of travel advisories, the European Union has issued a new guideline that has social media in a frenzy: if you’re not strictly male or female, you might just be barred from traveling to the U.S.A., sources have confirmed.
This unprecedented move reportedly aims to simplify the U.S. Customs forms which now, in a bid to boost efficiency, feature only two boxes: M or F.
The advisory, displayed in bold letters on the EU travel website, advises travelers to “check their passports and possibly their chromosomes” before booking flights across the Atlantic. This has sparked both outrage and bemusement online, with one commentator joking, “What’s next? A DNA test at immigration?”
EU officials, dressed in diplomatically neutral colors, struggled to maintain straight faces as they explained that the measure was designed in consultation with American bureaucrats who were tired of being confused.
