PORTLAND, ME — Democrats rushed to defend Graham Platner this week after Purple Heart recipient Pfc. Ted Daniels criticized the Maine Senate candidate’s behavior, forcing party leaders to confront their greatest fear: a real veteran saying something they cannot easily turn into a campaign graphic, sources have confirmed.
Daniels, who earned the kind of respect politicians usually borrow for speeches, made clear that PTSD does not excuse abhorrent behavior, immediately confusing Democrats who had already printed 40,000 yard signs reading Questioning Him Is Ableism Or Possibly Russia.
Platner, fresh off a primary win powered by endorsements from Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, AOC, and several other Democrats who believe rural America is something you fly over while discussing equity, thanked supporters by continuing to speak publicly.
Party insiders reportedly begged him to stop.
“Every time he opens his mouth, another talking point dies,” said one Democratic aide.
“At this rate, voters may realize we only pretend to care about veterans, workers, women, farmers, democracy, and lunch specials until the votes are counted.”
Warren called Platner “brave,” Sanders called him “working class,” and AOC called him “deeply intersectional,” before aides clarified none of them had read the latest report.
As of press time, Democrats had unveiled a new campaign slogan for Platner: “He May Be A Disaster, But He’s Our Disaster, And That’s Basically Leadership.”
I have no idea if Platnets purported service record is real or not……..BUT, I wonder openly why he is prancing around in a black T shirt with a RANGER scroll on it.

I am a decorated Vietnam Veteran and after watching and hearing Platner I am convince he is a want-a-be. I believe every Veteran should vote against him. I have PTSD AS A COMBAT VETERAN AND I KNOW MANY VETERANS WITH PTSD. I think he should lose all his benefits as he has abused the honor of having them. He needs psychical help. I have many credentials that I could specify to give this statement. Every veteran in Maine and I know many, need to stand against this man. This has nothing to do with political association; it is all about character. Most war veterans carry their colors as an honor not a disgrace and honor other Veterans. I am sure of one thing, that it seems that old Democratic party does not exist, for they would have run him down the road by now.
