In a stunning turn of events that some are calling the “Return of Reason,” Germany has allegedly rediscovered its common sense. Conservative opposition leader Friedrich Merz has claimed victory in the national elections, unseating Social Democrat incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz, sources have confirmed.
Merz, a leader who has promised to bring “logic back into government,” celebrated his win with promises of practicality and a rollback of what he describes as “fantasy policies.” “Germany is back on track, and not just the train tracks Scholz was obsessed with,” quipped Merz at his victory rally.
The news even caught the attention of U.S. President Donald Trump, who took to Truth Social to exclaim, “LOOKS LIKE THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY IN GERMANY HAS WON THE VERY BIG AND HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ELECTION. MUCH LIKE THE USA, THE PEOPLE OF GERMANY GOT TIRED OF THE NO COMMON SENSE AGENDA, ESPECIALLY ON ENERGY AND IMMIGRATION, THAT HAS PREVAILED FOR SO MANY YEARS.”
The electorate, apparently weary of the left’s increasingly experimental agendas, seemed to breathe a collective sigh of relief. One voter was overheard saying, “I just want the government to make sense again, and maybe fix the potholes too.”
Scholz’s party, stunned by the loss, is reportedly reevaluating their platform, particularly their stance on mandatory sandals with socks for all citizens.
As of press time, Scholz was seen packing up his office, while Merz was busy updating the national playlist from techno to classical, signaling a new era of serious tunes for serious times.
