WASHINGTON, D.C. — As the shutdown drags on, Senate Democrats have reportedly voted to reject Sen. Tim Scott’s “No Budget, No Pay Act,” opting instead for their own bill, the “No Work, Full Pay Act,” sources have confirmed.
Chuck Schumer defended the move, claiming, “Our struggle is emotionally taxing — and emotions deserve salaries.”
The legislation would guarantee lawmakers full pay during any shutdown “to preserve morale and protect democracy from stress-related fatigue.”
Meanwhile, government offices remain dark, Democratic approval has plummeted, and President Trump’s numbers have soared.
The sudden burst of reality reportedly caused AOC to host emotional support circles to heal from the “collective trauma of even seeing President Trump.”
Witnesses say even the mention of his name triggered some progressives—many of whom were equally distressed by the realization that they’ll eventually have to return to work.
As of press time, Democrats were drafting a companion bill titled the “Committee on Coping,” allocating $20 million for scented candles, participation trophies, and emergency group therapy for recently triggered progressives.
I believe that during the shutdown no Democrat receives any backpay. If you are not working you do NOT GET PAID. When they decide to go back to work, then any only then will they start receiving any pay.

You guys do know that Republicans were also getting paid? And that there are Americans getting paid to kill other Americans? The military and police are under no actual reasoning to help or defend you other than their own honor. Most of them have the integrity to actually stand up and meet the high standard of what’s being asked of them, but unfortunately, there are also many of them that let that power go to their heads, particularly being able to kill people without real consequences. And most of them loudly proclaim their faith in Christ God the whole time. But sure. It’s all the Dems fault even though there’s a republican president, and a house and senate that have republican majorities. Yeah. Okay.
