Washington, D.C. — Progressive operatives reportedly spiraled into chaos after a Democratic congresswoman was indicted on charges that could exceed 50 years for allegedly funneling FEMA disaster-relief funds into personal expenses and her campaign, sources have confirmed.
Rather than express shock at the alleged theft, far-left activists were horrified that anyone dared suggest a progressive could even be capable of wrongdoing.
One attendee at a D.C. rally reportedly burst into tears, shouting, “This undermines the entire victim-industrial complex!”
Major donors were soon seen checking their Return-On-Victimhood (ROV) statements, whispering:
“If we’re not the victims… then what’s our angle?”
Meanwhile, actual disaster victims waited unattended in the lobby of the congresswoman’s “For The People” headquarters — a slogan insiders say really means “for our people: cousins, brothers, long-lost uncles, and that one nephew who runs the group chat.”

As of press time, Democrats were demanding an investigation into why “taxpayers we don’t know” keep becoming the only real victims.
