Healthcare Breakthrough Ignored Because It Didn’t Fit the ‘Republicans Bad’ Starter Pack Used by Corporate Media

RFK Jr. shocked the nation this week by doing something Washington usually avoids at all costs — fixing a real problem, sources have confirmed.

His announcement ending bureaucratic “prior authorization” delays sent a wave of relief through families, doctors, and anyone who has ever been trapped on hold with insurance for nine hours.

And naturally, the corporate media responded with…total silence.

According to newsroom insiders, editors panicked the moment they realized the policy was a joint win for RFK Jr. and President Trump.

One producer fainted.

Another demanded an emotional support ferret.

A third screamed, “This isn’t allowed! Good news violates our liberal programming flowchart!”

Instead of covering the healthcare milestone, networks aired their usual hard-hitting journalism:

  • A segment on Luigi Mangione’s fangirls (psych hold escapees)
  • A three-minute analysis of Mamdani’s latest dramatic sneeze
  • A panel discussion titled “Is Trump Responsible for Earthquakes on Other Planets?”

Meanwhile, Americans celebrated the breakthrough, grateful somebody finally did something that helps actual human beings.

CNN responded by running a special report:

“Is Improving Healthcare a Threat to Democracy?”

As of press time… RFK Jr. and Trump still hadn’t received credit, but several of Mangione’s fangirls were returned to their “homes”.

    Isn’t improved healthcare racist, and/or sexist, and/or misogynist, and/or xenophobic, and/or transphobic, and/or . . . ?

The impact of this policy change extracted from health insurers is nothing short of monumental. As a private practice physician surgeon, I can unequivocally state that 30-50% of my FTE’s are spent in some way getting “permission” from insurance companies to agree to ‘permit’ patients to have procedures cover by the policies they have paid for, that they need and I want to provide. Even when the much coveted approvals are obtained, they clearly state that “approval is not a guarantee of payment”. I guess we’ll have to fight that battle in Chapter 2.

On the flip side from Dr. Mac, ie. a life long patient…
    1) I can’t even count the times I have been delayed on a needed procedure, have signed an “agreement to pay” form and still had problems scheduling ! Even if you agree to pay the insurance company will stall because they know that ultimately if you receive the Doctors “prescribed plan of care” they will have to cover it !
    2) Years ago myself and several coworker friends happened to have the same primary.
We discovered that our companies insurance provider was giving our primary the same excuses for not paying claims for each of us. There were multiple excuses for each of us and they were over the same period of time and in the same exact order for each. The inappropriate denials were absolutely systematic for the insurance company. I documented it all, and our company was forced to fire this insurance provider for another just to save face !
    3) I had an medical insurance company exec. friend who was involved with “Obama care .” He described it to me as, “ Obama wants to take over one fifth of our countries GDP, and if I help him do it my reward will be that my company will get to underwrite it ! “
The point is, when it comes to our health care, we are ALL being “underserved !”
I am encouraged that R.F.K. Jr. is taking definitive steps to remedy this unacceptable situation for all who need health care.

Although everyone needs health insurance-It is ridiculous that insurance companies decide on medical issues instead of doctors. The insurance companies are only out for themselves not the patients. That is shameful, all insurance companies do is collect money, pocket the money and go on with life while peoples health is of no concern
