New York’s mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani shocked reporters this week after openly admitting he has no idea how to pay for his $700 million “free bus” plan — but reassured New Yorkers that funding is “not really the point,” sources have confirmed.
Mamdani insisted the priority isn’t the math, the budget, or even reality itself, but simply the act of making buses free and hoping the details magically resolve themselves.
“The most important fact is that we do it — not how we do it,” he told reporters, echoing the financial strategy typically used by toddlers, lottery addicts, and 23-year-olds who list Klarna payments as a life goal.
Mamdani’s supporters praised his “visionary socialist optimism,” while critics pointed out several logistical concerns, such as:
- buses cannot run on vibes,
- drivers do not accept exposure as payment,
- and no amount of progressive fairy dust will stop the MTA from needing actual money.
Experts also noted that even “green” buses cost more to operate than a Manhattan studio apartment — which already runs $5,000 a month before utilities.

Then they raised it to $5.00 and everyone bitched ! We used to joke, why didn’t they make it $0
to come in and $10.00 to get out ? After all it’s not worth squat to come in to that place, but it’s a bargain at any price to get out ! Any New Yorker who is charged $500.00 to leave to move south is getting the bargain of a life time, even if they actually pay every penny and more !

I’m sure the good fairy from Allah will come along and solve all of Mamdani’s financial needs. I was quite pleased to see her in the picture already. Next will come the Islamists to help as well. Don’t forget the police will be removed and social workers put in place. Especially good Islamic ones who enforce Sharia law. Won’t be many criminals left. I do hope the social workers will be able to clean up the bodies from the gay people who are accidentally pushed off the roofs of the high rise buildings.
