WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA — Two Maryland men were arrested this week after allegedly selling steaks from the back of a pickup truck, prompting authorities to warn that “unregulated meat freedom” had reached dangerous levels.
Police say the men were caught offering ribeyes, New York strips, and porterhouses at prices so low they triggered what officials described as “a full-blown economic panic among licensed steak providers.”
According to investigators, the suspects appeared confused during questioning, repeatedly asking why selling meat, enjoying recreational substances, and exercising what they called “truck-based security” was suddenly illegal.
“They kept insisting this was just capitalism with better parking,” one officer said.
Authorities seized several firearms, which the men clarified were not for intimidation but rather “enthusiastic Second Amendment seasoning.”
Witnesses described the scene as “a tailgate that accidentally achieved peak efficiency,” noting the suspects had coolers, cash, and what one bystander called “a suspicious amount of confidence for men selling meat without a QR code.”
Tensions escalated when nearby residents demanded the confiscated steaks be redistributed “for the good of the community,” briefly transforming the scene into what experts later classified as “a spontaneous socialist barbecue.”
Police declined, carefully cataloging each cut as evidence while ignoring chants of “Free the ribeyes!”
As of press time, authorities confirmed the steaks would remain in custody, assuring the public they would be “disposed of responsibly,” likely at a private, taxpayer-funded cookout.

There ain’t no better meal than tailgate bought steak and stolen watermelon !
Still didn’t see where a law was broken. I have firearms (since I was 12) I have money (since I was 5) I have eggs for sale. (Since Barry sotoreo’s 2nd term) Should I turn myself in?
Just be glad it wasn’t donuts! Never make it into evendance!
Nothing is legal in Pennsylvania. Thus anyone without a licence to perform a normally illegal act is the Black Market.
Such bullsnot, leave them alone,no such thing as illegal steaks
I raised cattle in my backyard in Maryland and sold the meat. I feel really bad now.
