SACRAMENTO — California’s new track-and-field compromise broke irony meters statewide this week after activists who spent years demanding inclusion were outraged to learn biological girls might also be included, sources have confirmed.
The controversy began after state officials proposed allowing female athletes who finished behind a transgender competitor to share the first-place podium, a move progressives immediately condemned as “deeply unfair to the person currently standing in first place.”
“For years, we fought to make girls’ sports more inclusive,” said one furious parent while clutching a participation trophy the size of a mini fridge.
“But now they’re letting the girls stand up there too? That feels exclusionary.”
