Arsonist Fired Up, Caught in His Own Blaze

In a blazing display of irony, an arsonist was literally caught on fire while setting blazes amid California’s deadly wildfires, sources have confirmed.

The fire-starter, who evidently failed to master the basic ‘stop, drop, and roll’ technique, was apprehended red-handed—and slightly charred—by quick-acting firefighters.

Witnesses say the man, whose motto was reportedly “fight fire with fire,” was found dancing around a newly ignited fire, singing what sounded like a warped version of “This Girl is on Fire,” before realizing he, too, was ablaze. “It was like watching a bad fire safety commercial,” commented one onlooker, who captured the incident on his smartphone.

Law enforcement officials shook their heads in disbelief, as they cuffed the singed suspect. “You know, we actually have a job opening for a fire safety mascot. He’s already got the costume,” joked a local sheriff, referring to the arsonist’s scorched outfit.
