Rep. Glenn Ivey, D-Md., marked Memorial Day by jetting to El Salvador to visit deported illegal immigrant and suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, snubbing America’s fallen heroes, sources have confirmed.
Ivey, denied access by Salvadoran authorities on Monday, called Garcia—a wife-beating, human-trafficking suspect—“my constituent,” despite his deportation, sparking conservative outrage on X, where users like @ThePatriotOasis branded Dems “un-American.”
“While we mourned our soldiers, Ivey mourned a terrorist!” one post fumed.
Trump, on Truth Social, blasted Ivey, saying, “He’s more loyal to MS-13 than our troops—disgraceful!”
The right slammed Ivey’s trip as peak liberal lunacy, arguing it insults veterans, while Dems defended it as “compassionate oversight.”
Garcia, deported in March 2025, had lived in Maryland, but conservatives argue he’s El Salvador’s problem now.
Ivey returned empty-handed, whining about “access issues,” per Reuters.
As of press time, Ivey was reportedly planning a “Gang Member Remembrance Day” to honor his “constituent” on Veterans Day.
