In an effort to boost New York City’s revenue, Democratic lawmakers have introduced a revolutionary new plan that will see the city’s three million rats forced to pay taxes, sources have confirmed.
“This is going to make a huge difference,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams. “Just think, if we can get these three million rats to kick in even just a buck or two, that’ll be five or ten million dollars we can use for our city. I’m not sure how the logistics of this will work at all, but we can figure that all out later. This is a huge step forward, and today we should celebrate.”
The bill had many critics, who claimed that needlessly taxing the city’s rodents is an absurd notion.
“I agree that something needs to be done about the rats in this city,” said longtime NYC resident Parker Gilmore. “But I don’t think making them file taxes every year is going to do very much. Besides, these rats aren’t even making money, right? Are we trying to take 20 percent of their cheese? Another half baked idea from Democrats. Bravo, you idiots.”
As of press time, a rat uprising had absconded with Mayor Adams. His whereabouts remain unknown.
How about taxing POLITICIANS for every lie they tell the American public.
