A Montana man still waiting in a long line to cast his presidential vote is starting to wonder if he should just head home instead, sources have confirmed.
“They told me to stay in line, no matter how long it takes,” said Montana resident Clark Willis. “But I don’t know. They called this thing four or five days ago at this point. Feels a little late to make a difference. They say everyone’s vote matters, but I feel like I got cut out of the deal this time around. Oh well. Maybe next time I’ll see about that early mailing business.”
Despite the man’s wish to go home, democracy enthusiasts urged him to reconsider.
“Stay in line, no matter what,” said local voters rights advocate Lucy Jeffers. “It’s your duty as an American to participate in the election and serve your civic duty. Never mind that you may often feel like neither candidate directly speaks to you and therefore has not earned your vote. Or that results are often a forgone conclusion by the time you cast your vote. Forget all that! Just vote, vote, vote! It will solve every problem we have, I’m telling you!”
As of press time, the unhinged lunatic ranting about voting was escorted away by the police.
