After the Paris Olympic Games began yesterday, all swimming events have been delayed indefinitely following a suspicious warm spot reported by several swimmers.
“Alright, everybody out of the pool!” said Glenn “Salty” Waters, a safety technician that’s been employed by the International Olympic Committee for over 25 years. “We have a potential Code Yellow here, and no one is doing as much as a breaststroke until I see some negative urine tests come out of this pool! Our apologies to everyone that was ready to watch today’s races. Maybe you can go catch some field hockey or something.”
Spectators were disappointed that they’d have to wait to watch the competition, but ultimately understood.
“It’s too bad that one immature athlete can ruin the whole day for everybody,” said audience member Andy Smalls. “It’s a sign of how toxic these times are that we live in that we can’t get an international group of people together in a pool for five minutes before everyone starts freaking out that somebody peed in there. It’s so sad. I hoped this would be a time to put our prejudices aside.”
“Also, I bet the Canadians did it,” he added. “Disgusting bastards.”
As of press time, the Men’s basketball tournament had sadly been delayed for the same reason as the swimming events.
