Chaos erupted on Capitol Hill today after Bernie Sanders accidentally agreed with President Trump, sources have confirmed.
The 80 something-year-old senator stunned reporters by saying Trump “wasn’t stupid” and that “the system is broken,” before quickly blaming his hearing aid for “interfering with conservative frequencies.”
Bernie briefly smiled, as if relieved to have finally gotten something honest off his chest, before medical experts rushed in.
Sanders’ aides claim his government-issued device “briefly synced with a Fox News broadcast,” causing a temporary surge of logic and patriotism.
“He started asking about border security, small business taxes, and gas prices,” said one horrified staffer.
“We knew something was terribly wrong.”
Medical experts rushed to the Capitol to perform an emergency “progressive realignment,” re-tuning his hearing aids to only pick up NPR, “socialism, rules” podcasts, and the sound of Greta Thunberg sighing.
Meanwhile, Senate Democrats are demanding new legislation to prevent “ideological audio contamination,” warning that “exposure to Fox News may cause uncontrolled common sense.”
As of press time, Bernie’s hearing aids were reportedly humming Hillary Clinton’s “deplorables” speech on repeat while he recovered in a soundproof chamber lined with electric cars and expired campaign promises.
