Fresh off of insisting that Joe Biden was too old to contend in the presidential election, television, and movie star George Clooney has published a scathing opinion piece in The New York Times urging 80-year-old Mick Jagger to leave The Rolling Stones immediately so that they may find a replacment.
“I’m a lifelong Rolling Stones fan; I make no apologies for that,” begins the letter, published in full in today’s edition of the Times. “But the band I saw at SoFi stadium last weekend was not the band I’d seen in the past, as recently as 2021’s No Filter tour. For the band’s future, Mick must step aside and let someone younger play the hits. I’m afraid with someone this elderly behind the wheel of the greatest band of all time, none of us can get no satisfaction.”
Clooney’s comments split the rock and roll community.
“How dare he,” asked local Stones fan Rick Jeffers. “Why are millionaire celebrities like George Clooney so hell-bent on getting involved with politics and music when they’re so far removed from the average person? Of course Mick is a little older than he used to be, but he’s getting along just fine. Meanwhile, I can’t remember the last hit movie Clooney had. Maybe he should try worrying about his own shit.”
As of press time, Democrats and Republicans had united to urge George Clooney to keep quiet for a while.
Clooney maybe it’s time for you to step aside and retire your movies suck. Who elected Clooney to tell people to retire just climb back in that hole you came from and just shut your pie hole.
