Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, alongside Democrat Congress members Robert Menendez, LaMonica McIver, and Bonnie Watson Coleman, were caught red-handed breaking into an ICE detention center in Newark, claiming they just needed a “place to rest” as a sanctuary state, sources have confirmed.
The quartet, arrested yesterday at Delaney Hall, allegedly stormed the facility, with Baraka charged with trespassing after a chaotic clash involving shoving and yelling, per eyewitnesses.
“We’re tired from fighting Trump’s deportation machine!” Watson Coleman whined, insisting the group only wanted a nap in the 1,000-bed center.
Conservatives on X mocked the stunt, with one user quipping, “Sanctuary state now means free hotel for Dems!”
ICE officials, backed by Alina Habba, interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, slammed the break-in as reckless, noting the facility’s legal permits.
Baraka, released later, doubled down, saying, “We did nothing wrong!”—a claim conservatives call “peak liberal delusion.”
As of press time, Baraka was spotted pitching a “Sanctuary Siesta” bill to let Dems nap in ICE cells statewide.
