In an unexpected twist that might sweeten the deal for some at the expense of others, President Donald Trump’s newly imposed tariffs on Canadian maple syrup are poised to create a boom for Vermont syrup producers, sources have confirmed.
The tariffs, meant to encourage “American syrup for American pancakes,” have set the stage for a sticky economic infusion into Vermont’s economy.
