In a bold new public safety initiative that redefines both safety and the word “crime,” Virginia Democrats unveiled legislation eliminating prison time for most violent offenses, sources have confirmed
Lawmakers said the move would modernize justice by shifting consequences away from criminals and onto families, commuters, store clerks, and anyone still clinging to the outdated belief that laws should discourage behavior.
The bill’s sponsors praised the approach as “community-based accountability,” meaning the community now gets to deal with it.
By removing minimum sentences, Virginia Democrats are reportedly pushing for a new set of voters: would-be convicted felons, under the new laws no convictions means more voters and fewer awkward statistics to explain during election season. Party strategists described the math as “equity-driven” and “very exciting.”
Ironically, the very Democrats calling for no minimum sentences immediately demanded life in prison for peaceful protesters of the bill, explaining that violence is nuanced but disagreement is dangerous.
One lawmaker clarified that harsh punishment is still appropriate when citizens express concern, raise questions, or refuse to clap.
Police departments say the new rules have streamlined enforcement, replacing arrests with apologies and gift cards for emotional distress caused by accountability.
As of press time, Virginia residents were reminded that crime is down on paper, fear is a social construct, and locks are a form of privilege.
Let’s just say it like it is going to be. Abigail Spanberger and her cohorts are now allowing criminals to flourish in the Old Dominion. Virginia and it’s largest cities will soon look like Los Angeles or San Fransisco.
I guess if the communities are going to handle it then we won’t need lawyers, judges, or police. Since laws are just a construct. We’ll build gallows and whipping posts of old. Virginia…you got what you voted for…Democrats always campaign as “moderate” and “reasonable”, but when actually elected drop their masks and show their true political leanings. My rule of thumb regarding Democrats has been (since the Carter era) “Never believe or trust anything a Democrat says…Always watch what they do!” For me, this has worked for the last 50 years.
I didn’t vote for it. I support Trump, but his layoff of federal employees galvanized the feds living in Northern Virginia to come out hard to vote against Republicans. Plus the Republican Party leadership in this state is completely incompetent. The state is actually split almost 50-50 right now. But these Dims are coming with a vengeance.
If you vote for the new (last 20yrs) Democrats then you have the right, but no way, should you complain. The Democratic Party fights every thing that is good for the USA citizens and supports all that is bad. Knowing that it hurts the USA’S citizens. Fact and not fictual. Dig deep and you will agree 100%.
More moronic law makers, why have they just not said, Hey let’s imprisone all of the innocent tax paying Honest residents. And let all of the Criminals run free. This will solve all of our states problems. Just where in hell do they get these so-called politicians from? Let me guess, The States looney bin.

So you’re now saying, the honest citizens are responsible for the criminals? So if an honest citizen takes on the responsibility of criminality and shoots one of these guys they should not get in trouble for taking care of the problem.
How else is a citizen It’s supposed to defend theirselves without really police protection cause you’re saying they have to protect themselves.
