JD Vance has decided to skip the presidential inauguration to attend the College Football National Championship game, where Ohio State will be playing, sources have confirmed.

The decision underscores Vance’s commitment to his home state and its critical football agenda, over what he reportedly called “just another ceremonial handoff.”

While some politicians might waffle between duty and sports, Vance didn’t hesitate. “In Ohio, football isn’t just a game; it’s a way of life,” Vance stated, adding that watching Ohio State in the championship is “practically a civic duty.” The move has sparked debate among constituents, with some praising his loyalty to local culture and others questioning his priorities.

At the stadium, Vance is expected to partake in full fan regalia, including face paint and a custom Buckeye jersey. Critics have noted this might clash with his senatorial decorum, but supporters argue that “if you can’t wear your team’s colors proudly, what can you stand up for?”

As of press time, Vance’s office was seen sending apologies to the inauguration committee, along with an Ohio State cap, just in case any members want to switch their allegiance for the day.

How is that possible? The vice president is also officially sworn in on Inauguration Day!

I am very happy. JD Vance will get to celebrate with his Alma Matter. The Ohio State Buckeyes are the hardest working football team in the Big Ten. This game will be historic and JD Vance needs to feel the ultimate excitement. I’m sure he was given the go. No disrespect.
