Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has officially accepted the highest gubernatorial salary in America as part of what aides describe as a progressive education initiative, sources have confirmed
According to insiders, Shapiro believes voters cannot truly grasp wealth inequality unless it is demonstrated inches from their faces by a smiling Democrat holding a taxpayer funded paycheck.
The salary increase, approved automatically and without irony, is reportedly meant to help Pennsylvanians understand that capitalism only becomes dangerous when it pays someone they did not vote for.
Shapiro allegedly explained that by growing his own bank account during a time of statewide economic struggle, he is bravely living the inequality experience so others do not have to succeed themselves.
Staffers say future raises are already planned and will be triggered whenever a resident complains about potholes, energy bills, or schools that look like Cold War fallout shelters.
The governor has also dismissed criticism as extremist rhetoric, misinformation, or math, insisting the raise is about empathy and leadership, not money, power, or ambition.
Sources say a new task force will soon be created to study why citizens feel poorer while being told everything is working.
