Wealth Tax Backfires After Billionaires Choose ‘Leaving’ Over ‘Funding Neighbor’s Lifestyle’

California officials reportedly expressed confusion this week after wealthy business owners responded to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s proposed wealth tax by packing up and leaving the state instead of politely paying more, sources have confirmed.

According to insiders, Newsom genuinely believed billionaires would welcome the tax as a character-building exercise and remain in California to fund government programs, neighbors’ ambitions, and endless lectures about fairness.

“We assumed they’d stay out of guilt,” one aide allegedly said.

“No one expected them to understand arithmetic.”

Business owners reportedly reviewed the proposal, glanced at payroll costs, housing prices, regulations, and existing taxes, then made the rational decision to relocate to states where success is not treated as a moral failure.

“Running a business is already expensive,” one executive allegedly explained.

“This felt less like fairness and more like punishment.”

State officials insisted the exodus proves the tax is working.

“When productive people leave, that means equality,” a spokesperson reportedly said while pointing to a chart labeled Vibes.

Newsom allies reassured voters that shrinking tax bases and empty offices are temporary, but fairness is forever.

Republicans quietly noted that jobs, investment, and common sense appear to be fleeing alongside the billionaires, an observation officials dismissed as “right-wing math.”

As of press time, Newsom was reportedly meeting with New York City’s Mamdani to explore taxing billionaires in other states, prompting one business owner to ask, “Is this the new math they teach in schools, or did they just bump their heads?”

Doesn’t surprise me, Kalifucistan is about 37th in math scores, and you need to know about five different languages to function there. All the fun is gone from california. Pretty soon, Gavin will be just another stoned park ranger, with 1 million dollar (daily) cabanas to rent.

Like I always say, . . . sometimes: MONEY is mobile. It goes where it is welcomed. It stays where it is treated well. The rich didn’t get rich, by letting others take their money.

California has been sliding down hill long before Newscum was elected GOV. My dad moved us out in the summer of ’69 because it was going to hell in a handbasket then.

Governor Hair Gel is such an obvious fraud. I bet he sold used cars. ” Excuse me. But this car has 105,000 miles in it. ” Newscum: Oh hey, we rebuilt the motor at 90,000 miles. You have essentially a new car here ! In a nut shell.

What a bunch of bullshit from your reply folks. The billionaires got plenty of state funding money. I mean, how much money does one person need? Ask Elon Musk! $100 million dollar houses. What would Jesus do? Give it back. Pathetic.

Dear Ms. Voss – How many of the Hollywood elite/millionaires are willing to open their mansion homes to the homeless? No doubt their homes have several rooms. — and how much money are YOU ready to turn over to Gavin?

What is your solution? Take money from someone else? That seems a bit unfair to me.

All the Republicans should leave the State and then the State will fail quicker since there will be no one left to pay the hefty taxes except the people who depend on Government support.
