President Trump set tongues wagging by claiming his “Big Beautiful Bill” was amended to include a provision forcing North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis into early retirement, sources have confirmed.
The bizarre Truth Social post came after Tillis, one of three GOP senators opposing the bill’s Medicaid cuts, drew Trump’s ire with a “no” vote.
“Tillis is OUT—retired by my beautiful amendment!” Trump crowed, per Capitol Hill insiders.
The bill, a sprawling tax-and-spend package, now has a retirement clause, and Tillis, 64, announced he won’t seek re-election in 2026, citing personal choice, not Trump’s amendment.
Posts on X show MAGA fans cheering the “Tillis takedown,” while critics call Trump’s claim a delusional flex.
Democrats mock the gaffe, with one senator quipping, “Trump’s amending reality now.”
As of press time, Trump’s selling “Tillis Retired” mugs, while Tillis shrugs off the drama, eyeing a quiet exit.

I am white and 76 and do not get Medicaid They say I don’t qualify. Texas Benefits gave me $20 a month for 2 months and took it back saying that was to much. I could riot and protest them if I had the US government taking care of my every need. But I had to pay into the system to get part of mine back
